    Music Industry to provide amnesty!

I just read that the music industry is providing an amnesty period where you can admit to stealing music, as long as you vow to delete it from your hard drive. Wow, sounds like a great deal, except it doesn’t apply to those who have been sent subpoenas! This just looks like another stupid move by the industry to try and bully people into being afraid of them. Kind of like “good cop – bad cop”, except it’s more like “evil cop – evil cop”.

    And do it… EEEEBAY!

I really have this Ebay song stuck in my head. The one that is like “My Way.” except with cooler lyrics:

And now… my dream car’s here. … I got a deal, of this I’m certain. Type in your choice… then hit return. … You want selection? They’re not hurtin’. Cars and trucks… and cycles, too… at the same place as this dress shoe. If it exists… it can be found. … You can even buy a town… and do it eeeeeeBayyyy.

Here’s a link to the commercial

Future Hung’s note (from March 2008): holy shit, the link still works after like, four years!!!

Hiker cuts off his own arm!?

For some reason, this story is really high there on the list of “Important news that Americans should know about.” So anyway, the story goes that this hiker cut off his own arm to escape a boulder. That’s almost as hard as ripping off your arm with the same arm! Anyway, they found the arm. The only thing that confuses me about this is that the story reports that

“The lower portion of Ralston’s right arm was recovered Sunday and taken to a mortuary, said Young, who helped move the boulder. ”

Mortuary!? Are they gonna have an “arm funeral?” What’s the deal!? Perhaps I am just ignorant of other cultures. Anyway, I hope the arm made it to arm heaven, and my thoughts are with the surviving extremeties.

    Fun with Ebay!

Back when Ebay was young, you didn’t need to actually have a transaction with anyone to leave feedback. That’s exactly what happened with this guy. There are a lot of gems, including my favorite:

Praise: Very polite, but I never spoke to him. Quick seller, yet I never bought. Hmmm.

Not buying or selling provides the smoothest transactions.

Technically, a big, wet, sloppy, TWAT provides the “smoothest transactions.”
